Volunteer Opportunities

We have a number of volunteer opportunities available to teens that count toward community service hour requirements. To fill out a volunteer form, scroll down. You can email michael@douglaslibrary.org for more information, and/or to get on the teen volunteer opportunity mailing list.

Upcoming Opportunities

  • Volunteer Garden Day
    Wed May 22, 3:30–4:30pm
    Join us for a relaxing hour of light gardening, work! We’ll be right outside the Douglas Library in the volunteer garden.
  • Kid’s Robotics Night
    Wed May 29, 6:15–7:45pm
    Help with setup, breakdown, and event assistance during one of our children’s tech programs!
  • Butterfly Garden Planting
    Fri May 31, 2:30–3:30pm
    Begin a butterfly garden with us right behind the Douglas Library! We’ll be preparing and planting a new garden right beside our volunteer garden.
  • Book Sale Setup
    Fri May 31, 2:30–3:30pm
    Book Sale Breakdown
    Jun 1, 3:00–4:00pm
    The Friends of the Library are looking for a few folks to help with setup and breakdown at their book sale.

Other opportunities, as they come, can involve

  • Helping with our volunteer garden
  • Assisting children with crafts or basic tech projects
  • Making book displays
  • Setting up/cleaning up for programs, including our quarterly book sales
  • Reading to children
  • Providing tech assistance
  • Completing library tasks
