Storytime Programs

libraryAdventure begins with the turn of a page!

Storytime sessions run from September to June in six-week block sessions. Registration is free and required in advance due to limited class sizes. Calendars for Storytime classes are available at the desk in the Children’s department. Waiting lists are available as classes fill. To register or for more information please call the library at 860-228-9312 ext 324 (Children’s Department)

  • Tuesday, 10am: “Toddlers” 2 to 3 years
  • Thursday, 10am: “Baby and Me” 0 to 2 years

Eagle Rock

Summer Reading at the Douglas Library starts with the kick-off,  Bring the Hoopla on Saturday, June 23rd at 1 PM in the Community Room of the library. Registration is required for this program as we only have room for 50 children. Parent or caregiver must accompany children to this program and all future programs. “Libraries ROCK!” Programming Schedule:

Bring the Hoopla Saturday, June 23rd at 1 PM enter the amazing world of Hoola-Hoops.

Lunch with a Llama Thursday June 28th at 1 PM bring your own bagged lunch and eat with a llama.

Farmer Minor, Daisy & the Pugs Thursday July 12th at 1 PM Come hear stories and visit with Farmer Minor and his famous pot-bellied pig Daisy.

Ancient Reptiles Thursday July 19th at 1 PM Riverside Reptiles will introduce you to a crocodile, an alligator and even a swamp monster!

Horizon Wings Thursday July 26th at 1 PM Raptor Rehabilitation and education.

Animal Embassy – Nature Rocks! Thursday August 2nd at 1 PM see an array of amazing animals up close.
