Volunteer Opportunities

For Hebron's community service oriented population, we have developed a list of volunteer opportunities in the local area.

Year-Round Opportunities

  • The Teen Advisory Board: Join TAB! We are, as you should know, your friendly library community service group.  We are always open to new members and you can participate as little or as much as you like.  

  •  Channel 3 Kids Camp: A camp that caters to inner city kids and often welcomes volunteers to do anything from arts and crafts to cleaning.

  • The Leos Club:  The junior version of the Lions Club for young people ages 12-18.

  • Middlesex Hospital:  You can either deliver flowers to patients or volunteer in a small operating recovery room helping patients.

  • Foodshare:  Walk Against Hunger: walk around Hartford (about 3 miles) raise money for poor Contact: Mark Logan (RHAM) [email protected] 

  • Juniorettes (Hebron):  a group for girls sponsored by Hebron Women's Club.  Community service oriented around "Time for Life" (kids with cancer) and sponsor in the Bunny Breakfast at RHAM  Contact: Mrs. Williams (Hebron Women's Club)

Seasonal Opportunities

  • Pancake Breakfast: help serve and organize a breakfast for townspeople at RHAM; serves pancakes, sausage, & orange juice

  • Hebron Fireworks: set up a booth and sell goods to people celebrating the 4th of July at the Hebron Fairgrounds

  • Special Olympics: work with mentally disabled children outside, sports related Contact: Richard Griswald, Mrs. Kmetz (RHAM)

  • Christmas in April: clean houses for people who cannot do it themselves

  • Nikki's Run, Walk, & Roll: help raise money for cancer; can help or compete Contact: Mark Logan (RHAM) [email protected]
