Friends of the Douglas Library
About Our Organization
The Friends of the Douglas Library meet monthly at the Douglas Library. Guests are always welcome meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month.
The purpose of our organization is to promote and support the Douglas Library. Our small group of volunteers work toward this goal, and we welcome all who have an interest in joining in our endeavors. Whatever contribution one can lend, great or small, is needed and appreciated.
Through frequently held used book sales and a variety of other fundraising events, the Friends provide funds for new books, special reference resources such as audios, videos and magazines, museum passes, funds for special equipment. The Friends also provide leadership and support for a variety of events at the library such as the annual children's holiday party and programs which feature speakers or performers.
The Friends is a major volunteer support group of the Douglas Library and is independent of the Douglas Library Association and the Board of Trustees which is the library's governing body.
Our membership is diverse; with all ages, interests, and commitments represented. We do all have a common interest -- supporting the Douglas Library of Hebron.
